Friends of Brat: Meet Sawyer Sharbino
We got Starbucks Cake Pops with Sawyer Sharbino to get to know a little bit about him and his awesome life. Here's what we learned about the twelve-year-old actor:
Sawyer, you've acted in several projects. So far, what's been your favorite scene to shoot and why?
Just a few weeks ago I shot a scene for a new TV show that was really fun because I got to be with kids my own age. We got to play with inflatable pool toys, and that's never a bad thing.
How old were you when you started acting, and how did that come about?
In a way I was born into acting because my older sisters are actors. I started acting classes when I was three, because it's what they were doing. It wasn't until I was about nine that I decided I really wanted to do it. I was at a Walking Dead convention to support my sister Brighton, and when I saw how she inspires people, I wanted to do that too. I saw the community you can build in the acting world and thought it was really cool.
What do you love about being on set?
Getting to try on different characters and personalities is a fun experiment. I mean, I love myself, but sometimes it's fun to pretend to be someone else. And the people on set are always really nice...except when they're not. But they normally are, and it never feels like work, it always feels fun.
What do you hate about being on set?
Someones you just have to wait around for nothing. Your scene might be done but you're still not allowed to leave until the whole shoot is over, just in case they need you again. That's when I wish I could go home.
What is your very favorite thing to do when you’re not on set or working?
I play Fortnite! When I was ten I built a computer from scratch specifically to play Fortnite. I ordered all the pieces online and then bent them all to fit in the right places. You can watch it on YouTube.
What's your current favorite TV show?
I actually don't really watch TV, but I do watch a lot of YouTube. I like to watch educational videos about business building.
Who's a celebrity you were really excited to meet?
Well, meeting Jennifer Garner was awesome because she's really nice and took a picture with my grandpa.
If you could be anyone else for one day who would it be and why?
I would have to be Elon Musk because I’d get to know how his mind works.
Before we wrap up, can you tell us one last fun fact about yourself?
I'm working on starting my own Amazon business. I'm still in the early research stage, trying to figure out what the smartest product would be to develop and sell. Oh, and also, I hate cutting my hair.
