Style With Sissy Sheridan

Hey, it's Sissy here, and this is my new article: DUPE OF THE WEEK.

Every week I'm gonna show you guys where you can find an outfit of mine, plus a dupe for one of the items!

What’s a dupe, you ask? Let’s check the dictionary!

Dupe

/d(y)o͞op/

verb

Deceive; trick

So, when I give you dupes every week, I’m giving you tricks for how to get the best styles for the cheapest prices! Are you ready?

DUPE OF THE WEEK

This week's dupe is my leggings, made by the company Lululemon. The company was founded in 1998 by Chip Wilson in Vancouver, British Columbia and sold its first pair of yoga pants that year. They make all sorts of athletic wear for women, girls, and men as well as hair accessories, yoga mats and water bottles. According to CultureCreator.com, the Lululemon logo was actually designed for a different brand name – and it shows.

The company’s website states that the Lululemon name was chosen in a survey of 100 people from a list of 20 brand names and 20 logos. The logo is actually a stylized ‘A’ that was made for the name ‘Athletically Hip,’ a name which failed to be chosen as the final company name. This definitely makes it a confusing logo in a world full of easily recognizable ones.

While Lulu's feel and work great, they can be pricey (unless you get them on sale, like I did). The good thing about leggings is that because they are so comfortable and versatile they are extremely popular. Whether wearing them to school, to dance class, or to binge watch your new favorite series, there are plenty of alternatives out there.
